Here’s what I’m thinking today

I still don’t know who’s reading these blogs, but if you happen to be a pro poker player or a player in need of analysis help, read further.

Coming from a biotech background and having experience with stats, I realized I kind of like studying poker just as much as I like playing it. Something super satisfying about knowing the nitty gritty technical details behind the game. You come to realize this game is just an abstraction of the real world.

With that, I was thinking in the future, I can provide a service where I will go through every single player of your choice, go back to 10+ years backlog of data by analyzing every single live game they ever play, along with any online hand histories they might have, and basically create a live HUD for you. Their entire range will be mapped out, and an according strategy against that specific opponent will be done. Obviously, this is probably being done already by any serious pros, but when I watched live interviews, it seems like it’s only the superelite players doing this. But if you assume the edge between super pros is <1%, then even the tiniest edge can be tremendous.

One guy I spoke to actually has a script apparently where it goes through the live HUD automatically on a YouTube video and records every single hand. This would come in super handy in the future.

Just some thoughts for today.
